README FOR NCOPY.EXE v3.58
The following files are included for this revision:
NCOPY EXE 127255 10-19-92 8:23p
NCY358 DOC (this file)
Purpose:
This update is intended for NetWare 386 v3.11 and NetWare 286 v2.2 and
fixes a problem with NCOPY changing files to zero length. If the source
filename to be copied also exists in a search diretory path, the source
file will be changed to zero length. This will only occur if the command
"search mode = 5" exists in the shell.cfg or net.cfg file.
This update also fixes a problem found when the user loads share.exe on a
workstation, and then uses ncopy to copy from a network drive to a
local drive. This procedure would return the message "Sharing
violation error."
Previous versions of NCOPY.EXE would allow two files of the same name (one
in upper case and one in lower case) to exist in the same directory. This
would create problems, since most DOS commands treat the filenames as all
UPPERCASE. This version of NCOPY.EXE will treat all file names (including
those using UMLATS) as uppercase.
Installation:
1) Flag NCOPY.EXE in the public directory to SRW.
2) Copy NCOPY.EXE from the public directory to a diskette for
backup purposes.
3) Copy this version of NCOPY.EXE to the public directory.
4) Flag NCOPY.EXE v3.58 in the public directory to SRO.
